Grilled Mojo Shrimp with Citrus Garlic Mojo

This Miami-inspired seafood dish features juicy grilled shrimp marinated in lime, chili flakes, and olive oil, finished with a bright citrus mojo sauce made with sour oranges, garlic, and fresh herbs.

For the Mojo Sauce: 

  • 3 sour oranges 

  • 1 head garlic, cloves peeled and separated 

  • 1 white onion 

  • Salt 

  • Chopped fresh oregano leaves 

  • Chopped fresh parsley leaves 

  • Chopped fresh cilantro leaves 

  • Freshly ground black pepper 


For the Grilled Shrimp:

  • 12 U12–14 shrimp 

  • Juice and zest of 2 limes 

  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 

  • 1 tsp chili flakes 



Ingredients



 Step 1: Make the Mojo Sauce Juice the sour oranges and add to a blender along with garlic cloves and chopped white onion.

Step 2: Add Herbs and Seasoning Add oregano, parsley, cilantro, salt, and freshly ground black pepper.

Step 3: Blend the Sauce Blend until smooth and vibrant. Set aside.

Step 4: Marinate the Shrimp In a bowl, combine shrimp with lime zest, lime juice, chili flakes, and olive oil. Toss to coat and marinate for 15–30 minutes.

Step 5: Grill the Shrimp Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high. Grill shrimp about 2 minutes per side until just cooked.

Step 6: Assemble the Dish Spread

  • Garnish with fresh herbs or citrus and serve immediately.
